During the lent, an online Singing Competition was conducted by the MGOCSM – Diocese of Ahmedabad, naming “SHUNOYO SINGFEST 24“. It was a wonderful virtual celebration that brought together participants from different Churches all over the Diocese to sing hymns and songs in honor of the Holy Virgin Mary. Despite being conducted online, the event managed to create a sense of togetherness and spiritual connection among the participants. It was a unique experience that showcased how technology can unite people in worship and celebration.
More than 10 churches took part in the “SHUNOYO SINGFEST 24” from the Diocese of Ahmedabad. Almost, Fourteen members participated from Ahmedabad Cathedral and we are thrilled to announce that the first and second prizes were secured by our Church. Congratulations to all the participants from our church for their exceptional performance in this singing Competition ! Remarkably, our church secured the First two prizes, showcasing the talent and dedication of our members.
Shunoyo Fest is a significant festival celebrated by the Orthodox Churches, also known as the Feast of the Dormition of the Holy Virgin Mary. During this lent, believers commemorate the Dormition of the Virgin Mary into heaven. The feast is marked by special church services, prayers, processions, and cultural events. It’s a time of joy and spiritual significance for the Orthodox community.
