Food for the poor & needy

Food Charity Drive was an initiative started by MGOCSM Ahmedabad in 2017. An idea pioneered by one of our MGOCSM member, it was fore-fronted by Maninagar and Behrampura Ward. MGOCSM members would gather in the afternoon after the Holy Qurbana and prepare food in the church campus and distribute it to the needy people nearby the church campus. Initially we started with 10-12 members from the two wards meeting every month on 4 th Sunday preparing 50 packets of food and distributing among the needy nearby the area of Cathedral. Slowly we increased the number to 100- 150 food packets every month. Each and every member would contribute their donations whole heartedly and participate in the initiative. We continued this initiative prior to the Covid with less publicity and donations. After COVID was over, MGOCSM Ahmedabad decided to grow this event on a larger scale thus including everyone in this initiative. Food charity drive is an initiative which has been executed successfully by MGOCSM Ahmedabad members and is expanding to new areas to reach out to more needy people, thus giving a platform for more MGOCSM members to participate, interact and acquire few skills which would help them in their spiritual and personal lives. We are determined to keep continuing this initiative, giving back to our society and spreading the love and Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
