KRISTOS -Theme Session 2

Speaker : H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim

The second session by H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim (Thirumeni) was… What did Jesus do for you? and What we should do for Jesus Christ and his church ? I have written few highlights of Thirumeni’s Second or the Concluding Session below…

WHAT DID JESUS DO FOR YOU ?

Jesus in the upper room broke and gave bread & wine to his disciples symbolizing His body and His blood for the redemption of mankind in His Last Supper. Later He demonstrated His Love on the cross by shedding the last drop of His blood and gave away His Life in exchange of all our Sins. By doing so, He offered redemption and forgiveness to all the sins of mankind and who-so-ever believes in Him and follows His teachings will be known as the children of God.

WHY DID JESUS BECAME THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB ?

Jesus is the only one who has no sin, as highlighted in 1 John 3:5, which states that in Him there is no sin. This emphasizes His unique nature as the sinless Son of God, sent to take away the sins of humanity. Hebrews 4:15 further supports this by stating that Jesus was tempted in every way, just like us, yet remained without sin.

His sinlessness is essential for His role as the Savior, allowing Him to bear the sins of the world and offer redemption to the believers. Thus, Jesus became the sacrificial lamb to fulfill God’s redemption plan. Exodus 12:5 mentions that the lamb must be without blemish, which Jesus fulfills as the perfect sacrifice. Exodus 13:2 emphasizes the importance of consecrating the firstborn, linking to the idea of sacrifice for redemption. 2 Corinthians 5:21 states that Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin for us, allowing us to become righteous before God. These verses together highlight Jesus as the ultimate sacrificial lamb, providing spiritual nourishment and eternal life to believers.

CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU, WHAT WILL YOU GIVE BACK ?

Thirumeni taught, nothing can replace God’s Love for us… we can’t Love back God as He Loves us… still we can give back three different things to our Lord as per the Bible..

  1. RED MARTYR : Red martyrs, as mentioned in Matthew 24:9, are those who face persecution and even death for their faith, teaching & preaching Gospel of Christ around the World.
  2. WHITE MARTYR: White Martyrs, referenced in Matthew 16:24-26, take up their cross daily, practicing self-denial and living out your faith through Acts of Service by giving completely your Life to Christ and living for His ministry.
  3. TITHE: Giving the tenth portion of your income or salary or anything is the third way of giving back to our Lord as per the scriptures.

GIVE YOUR TIME AS TITHE

Thirumeni, elaborated more on the Tithe part as the Bible says in Leviticus 27:30, “A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.”

That means the Tenth portion of Everything is not yours, it’s of the Lord. Let it be money, yield of your farm, salary or even profit from your business etc. Tenth of Everything…. Now everybody get a total of 24 hours every day so the tenth of our 24 hours come to 2.40 Hours, which is not ours. Hence, Thirumeni said we have to give back each day a 2.40 Hours for our Lord as it’s not ours. He further elaborated that … if each day you have to give 2.40 hours then in a week we have to give 16.8 hours and in a month we need to give 72 hours for our Lord.

WILL YOU GIVE 72 HOURS IN A MONTH FOR OUR LORD ?

WILL YOU GIVE 16.8 HOURS IN A WEEK FOR OUR LORD ?

WILL YOU GIVE 2.40 HOURS EACH DAY FOR OUR LORD ?

Thirumeni, Challenged each one of us who attended the conference.

Yes… its a difficult but, I am going to do it…

Please comment below, do you except this challenge ?
