On July 20th our MGOCSM members decided to clean and restore the cemetery grounds at St. Lazarus Chapel it was a testament to the profound sense of community and love that defines our congregation. The efforts put in were nothing short of inspiring, as we meticulously tended to every grave, ensuring that every resting place was clean and honored with the utmost care. Overgrown vegetation was cleared, pathways were revitalized, and the entire cemetery was renewed with an aura of tranquility creating a serene environment for reflection and remembrance.
The following day, July 21st, the spirit of renewal continued with a heartwarming tree planting event. Moreover, what touched the most was to see flowers placed on loved ones’ graves by our MGOCSM members. This simple yet profound gesture of remembrance and love spoke volumes about the enduring bonds we share and the importance of honoring those who have passed. After which we continued with the tree plantation drive in the presence of Rev. Fr. Geevarghese Thomas (Jipson Achen), the MGOCSM Ahmedabad Diocesan Vice President, we planted 97 trees around the chapel grounds, each one symbolizing hope, growth, and a promise for the future. As we planted these saplings, the air was filled with a sense of shared purpose and the promise of growth. The act of planting these trees was not just about adding greenery; it was about fostering a living tribute to our shared commitment to nurturing both our environment and our community. The sight of these young trees taking root and reaching for the sky was a beautiful reflection of our collective aspirations.
